We run a custom made Database (paradox) and we are finding that one PC (winnt workstation sp6) is unable to communicate with winfax when trying to fax out confirmations to suppliers. The winfax program is running at the same time as the Database but when a request is made from the Database nothing happens (no error message etc),however the Database freezes and we have to get out of the program using Task Manager. There are no problems on any other workstations.
I have tried reinstalling the last NT service pack (6) and winfax but the problem persists.
I heard that something called DCOM is responsible for communication between programs but I don't know how to troubleshoot this.
