Hello,

I am getting the following error while running the backups on one of our client systems.

Error Code: [19:1131]
Description: Waiting for the services on the client to come online.
---------------

We are using the Commvault version 8.0.0 in the backup server and the client system is a Linux machine running on RHEL- 5.4. We are able to connect to the client with ping by name and IP from the server and able to connect with telnet on ports 8400 and 8600.

The traceroute results from the server worked fine and the readiness check from the server gives the following error,

Communication failure between Client and the MediaAgent using data interface pair x.x.x.x/x.x.x.x. Error returned is: Authentication failed.
-------------

I have also checked nslookup from the client and it failed to resolve the hostname with server IP.

How can I resolve this issue. Please advise.

Are the client daemons running? - Try to reboot if you are unsure how to start them manually.

However, a perfect name resolution from all nodes is mandatory. This is what i would address first.
 
Yes, the client daemons are running. I have also restarted them.
 
As you stated yourself, solve the name resolution problem.
 
I'm having the same issue, with the exception that all host names resolve correctly on the client, MA and CS.
