Hi there,
I have a 4700 connecting to a LS-1010, with a link over a 34MB ATM to a LS-1010 connected to an RSM.
4700---LS1010----------34MB ATM-----------LS1010-------RSM
4700 cannot get an ARP entry for RSM, although I can do an ATM ping from one LS1010 to the other. When I debug IP ICMP and then ping from 4700 to RSM, I get the following error
.Nov 27 10:37:55: IP: s=x.x.x.x (local), d=x.x.x.x(BVI1), len 100, sending
.Nov 27 10:37:55: IP: s=x.x.x.x (local), d=x.x.x.x(BVI1), len 100, encapsulation failed
Has anybody got any ideas on why the 4700 cannot get an ARP entry for the RSM and vice versa.
PS - we have IRB configured on the 4700
thanks very much
