Communicating Perl with Oracle 8i

Do you have a recipe of requirements to implement communication between Perl and Oracle8i?

We have already compiled DBI and DBD, but the last one generated an error:

You must install a Solaris patch to run this version of the Java runtime.

 
I am not sure if I understand your question correctly, but I have tried my best to find some links on the Internet that can help.

I don't know the answer to that one, but I would suggest that since you haven't heard from anyone on this list with a definitive answer, you might want to try asking your question on the Perl DBI mailing list - you can find a link to it from the main Perl DBI web page at


But before asking the list, check the archives for that list - find that link at the bottom of the same page - you can try searching for something like "Solaris and MySQL" to see if anyone else has come across that same problem.
