Communicate with com ports

I have a old program written in QBASIC. I have up a PC with 4 serial ports. I am told that when the program is run that it will not connect with the ports and I know that the ports are functional.

What code could I write that would allow me to test the com ports of the PC to ensure that they are functional.


Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Try using a program called "QBSERIAL" available on

http://www.qbasic.com.
