We have several costumers with this solution.
ACD group with overflow from e.g. an Ericsson MD110 or BusinessPhoneor Nortel Meridian PBX to a mailbox in the OCTEL message server. The keyset or system phone for this particular commond mailbox is wall-mounted so everyone in the ACD group can see the MEW/MWI lamp.
When the lamp lights up - only one ACD group member takes action on the actual message.
This advantage - that only one group member is in charge of handling the message and taking care of it, avoids double work and "who is responsible for the response to the person that has left the message".
To be able to see the message lamp we have in some cases made some extra work by installing a kind parabole (from a torch) to make the light more visible to the group agents.
Have you done this the same way, or maybe in a better way?
