Is there such as thing as a CommonDialog control for Javascript like there is for VB that allows you to call this object and it brings up the normal "windows explorer" view so that people can save files??

Thanks.

I don't think so, but I'm not exactly sure what you mean. You may want to try using VBScript, if your application is on an intranet.

Do you want to save files on the server, or the user's machine? jared@aauser.com

Everything has already been coded in Javascript and HTML and it's what the application says it's going to use so I'm semi-constrained.

Anyways I just need an easy was in Javascript to allow a user to save a file to their machine (client) that allows them to select a HD / Folder and file name.

Any ideas?

just provide a link to the file. that'll work for some files, but not html and stuff like that... otherwise you can't access their hardrive in any way using js... jared@aauser.com
