In FoxPro 2.6 if you did something like opening a table in the View window, the Command box had the whole command in it.

If I open the Data Session in VFP9, and then open a table, the command isn't showing up in the command window.

I can't find an option that turns this on.

Can this be turned on and where is it set?

Thanks.

Hi Tony,

If I open the Data Session in VFP9, and then open a table, the command isn't showing up in the command window.

That's not the behaviour I'm seeing. In general, any action you take in the Data Session window or Project Manager is echoed to the command window. That's certainly the case with opening a table in the Data Session.

There must be some setting that controls this, but I can't see it anywhere.

Mike

I've not seen this with DataSession but I have seen (or not seen) it with the Project Manager in VFP9. I don't always get the [TT]MODIFY FORM d:\projects\webpage\dev\form\webadmin.scx[/TT] being echoed to the Command Window when I open the form designer from the Project Manager. I only see it in VFP9 but I've only got the one VFP9 project so I dpn't know whether it's the project or VFP9 playing up.

It's funny...

I right-clicked on the Command Window, clicked on Properties..., looked at what chould be changed, didn't change anything, clicked on OK, and the Command Window started to work again and to display the commands I clicked on.

For instance, yesterday the Data Session window didn't display the commands, today, after I did the above, when I opened the Data Session window and opened a table, the command window displayed the command.

Go figure. I recently had to re-install FP9, so I think something didn't get set as a default. When I opened the Command Window's properties, it set something somewhere to make it work correctly. I think this information is stored in the Resource file.

Since I moved a few projects from FP8 to FP9 the resource file came from the old project.

Also, since I use a different resource file for each of my projects, many of the settings had to be reset. Probably the best thing to do is to set one FP9 Foxuser.dbf, then copy that one use it in all your other projects rather than bring over the older version resource file.

Hope this helps.
