Hi All,

We usually use "netstat" command with appropriate flags in order to see the sockets/connections info on AIX. But I would like to get the tcpip connections (closed/established) info from previous day (during particular time period).
Is it possible to get info from the past ? I did not ran the command/script to save it to a output file. but still would like to get the info from yesterday.

Thanks,

Nothing is recorded with netstat being that its meant for realtime usage so there is no history to query.
You would have had to have tcpdump or something similiar running and collecting during the timeframe.
Perhaps your network admin monitors the connections from the switch, I actually doubt it but its worth asking.
For a count of connections I get that from a Round Robin Database that collects a 5 minute interval. I can see the number of connections. e.t.c. on a chart similiar to a mrtg chart.
Software I use is called orcallator.
