I am hoping there is a way to display the chassis and/or card serial numbers on the Nortel Passport 7Ks and 15Ks. I inherited a network with several Passports in several different locations. Need to document what we have without flying to each location to get the serial numbers. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
AJ

show system card table

Should list all cards, part numbers and serial numbers

That does not seem to work.

1> show system card table
EM/XXXXXXXXXXX
Invalid syntax: {verb} incompatible with <component>.
Input: {show} <>system card table
command failed 2013-04-03 09:40:49.65

I have been checking documentation online and have come across a lot for the 8100 series. However, the commands are different and it looks like the Passport 7k/15k run a different OS.

what do you get if you just enter "show system card" do it give you a list of possible completions?

Or just "show system" and see what options there are.

This command works on a 4K which should have the same cli as the 7K

I get the following:

1> sho system
EM/XXXXXXXXXXX
Invalid syntax: {verb} incompatible with <component>.
Input: {sho} <>system
command failed 2013-04-03 14:05:21.12

2> sho system card
EM/XXXXXXXXXXX
Invalid syntax: {verb} incompatible with <component>.
Input: {sho} <>system card
command failed 2013-04-03 14:05:29.98

I have not seen any "show" commands on this box. The "list" and "display" commands are the closest that are available.

Thanks.

Sorry, my Cisco background showing through. [wink] I made it halfway between "sh" and "show!" I re-tried the commands with "show" and got the same result.
