In NT 4 I could run the following command at the command prompt to access the local user manager on a specific PC: USRMGR \\PCNAME. After you run this the remote machine Local User Manager appears and we can add users or modify groups to that machine

This was good for NT 4 machines. Is there a similar command line for going between windows 2000 machines ? We are not a 2000 domain, we do not have Active Directory.

The desired result is to add a specific user into a specific PC's administrators group

mikebach,

If you want to add local users to a remote machine open Computer Management. Right click Computer Management and choose 'connect to another computer'.

Choose the computer you would like to connect to and once connected you can use Local Users and Groups to create local accounts on that machine.

Hope this helps,
