I am using the command line to start Paradox and my application. This is a peer to peer network running windows98 and windows95.

The command line for my main computer(where my files and paradox reside) is;

c:\pdox45\paradox.exe -extk 16000 MainStrt

The command line on the workstation (where I am networked to the main computer as drive H:) is;
h:\pdox45\paradox.exe -extk 16000 -share -net h:\pdox45\ h:\pdox45\wsstrt

My questions are:
1) Does it matter what order the overides for the defaults are in ?
2) What is the largest memory size that you can put in the overide -extk ?

beaver2,

1. No, just make sure you pass the proper parameters after each option. (I do believe the startup filename needs to be the last

2. 16000, the value you're already using. -extk tells Paradox/DOS how much extended memory is available for its use. Unfortunately, v4.5 was originally released ~1994 and the most extended memory available for most applications at the time was 16MB. Since Paradox/DOS has not been recompiled since then, I'm afraid the only way you'll be able to use the extra memory on your current PC's is to upgrade to the Windows version of Paradox. This will, of course, require a rewrite of the applications you're using.

Hope this helps...
