Hi
Environment - Windows 2000 printing to a Unix print server via lpd
I have manually created about 40 lpr ports on my Windows 2000 professional computer.
Is there any command line utility I can use to allow me to create printers that are attached to the lpr ports, and possibly specify drivers ?
I want the printers to appear in the "Start, Settings Printers" section of my Win2k pc.
I have tried "con2prt.exe" e.g.
con2prt /c \\servername\printqueue
servername is the printserver providing lpd
printqueue is the name of the printer on the server
but it only connects to printers on windows print servers.
I think I need a utility which will allow me to connect to local printers as the ports I have created (i think) are local.
Any help much appreciated.
