How can I check what level of software my switch is running?

If you are talking about Option 11C, you can check the using LD143.

Go to LD 143

Large switch:

KSHO REC

11C

UPGRADE (Only on port 0)

For the 11C you get a menu. If I remember correct type 4 for the current install summary
