Hi,
I am trying to find out what kind of tape drive is on the HP-UX server(9000/I50).
Using commandline.
Is there any command to do so?
Other than IOSCAN and ISDEV.
I think these sommands dont say it is a DDS2 or DDS4 etc.

Thanks

Not too au fait with HP-UX, but mt -f /dev/rmt--- status works with some OSs

Could work ? Ian

"IF" is not a word it's a way of life

On HPUX 10.xx and up the ioscan command (use "ioscan -fnC tape") will report the model number of the tape drive (35480A, C1533A, etc). If need be you can then use HP-SPI or Partsurfer to determine the type of drive that it is.
