Management of a Telephony Server normally requires that several users are defined with different levels of authority. The following types of users exist in the Telephony Server:
Linux administrator (root) - created during installation of the Telephony Server. See the appropriate SuSE Linux documentation for details on root privileges.
Telephony Server administrator(s) - the first user (eri_sn_admin) is predefined from factory and exists in the system when delivered. A second administrator user is defined during the installation. A third administrator user is defined during the installation for access to the Manager Telephony System.
A level of authority is given to the user by assigning the user to a group. For Telephony Server administrators, eight different groups are available, each with a different level of authority. These groups are snlev0, snlev1, up to snlev7. The lowest level, snlev0, is authorized to use only configuration print commands; the highest level, snlev7, is authorized to execute all Telephony Server commands. Which commands that relates to an authority level is defined in the /etc/opt/eri_sn/mdsh.conf file. See also the command description for Commands in Telephony Server.
