Comm Ports

I have a pc with 1 comm port on the back. I have a ups connected to it. i also have a PS/2 mouse.

Recently i purchased a usb fax modem to use on this computer. It worked for the day and now it doesn't. I looked at the system properties and it says that the modem is working properly on comm port 3.

Does anyone know what might be wrong with this machine or modem. Have i ran out of comm ports. Also the pc shows no conflicts in the properties.

I am using windows server 2003 as my os.

First thing to do would be to uninstall and re-install the drivers.

I also have one port. I have 3 serial devices. I put in a PCI serial card to add more ports.
