The 2 center pairs. If you use 8-pin jacks, yes, 4&5 are the 1st pair, 3&6 are the 2nd pair. The phones comes with a 6-pin jack and line cord however, so if you use 6-pin jacks, it's 3&4 and 2&5. Commonly refered to as "2-pair USOC"
