Comdial DSUII and Amanda SOHO VM

I am trying to connect an Amanda SOHO 4 port VM to a Comdial DSUII. Everything is working except the auto attendant transferring calls to extensions. Listening on a butt set, I hear a tone (digit 1)then the extension digits.
Is there any way to adjust timers? Is that first digit messing me up?
If I answer the call and manually transfer, it will go to the extension and then the mailbox.
