Hi

Is it possible to get rid of the arrow in a comboBox?
Access 97/2002

Thanks
Orna

What are you trying to do? Why don't you want the arrow?

Sharon

I only use it to display a name when a code is given,
and the arrow is unnecessary for this purpose.

Do you mean there's only one line in it? If so just change it to a text box - right click on it in design view & select 'Change To'.

Sharon

I have this combo in a lot of lines forms in the bottom
of the form, it displays the user name that create
the record. If I change to text box I'll have to add
a USER table to each query in each form to get the
user name.
I hope the explanation it clear enough.

Thanks for the answer, Sharon

I'm not sure if I'm getting this quite right, so please correct me;

You have a combo box on your form which just displays the current user.
This is used to add the user's name to each new record.

I've not tried this out myself, but how about using a text box & setting the default value to the current user (basically the same as the row source for the combo)?

Sharon

It's not for new records, but displays a name from the exists records.
Edit is not allowed in those forms, DClick on
any field opens another form with all the record's details.

You could add a textbox to your form that copies it's content from the combobox and make your combobox invisible.
I love work.
I can just sit and look at it for hours.

No problem.

But remember, you can't copy from the combobox when it is invisible. So you'll have to make it visible for a sec to copy it's content, after which you can make it invisible again.
