Hi:

I am trying to use a unbound combobox to filter a parameter query for some reports that have the same data but, are stand alone reports. Using the parameter queries leaves too much possibility for error in the text that my users can shortcut their way through. The reports are for different Programs or Regions.

I can filter using like and wildcards for the parameter queries. The combo box would allow my users to select the Program or Region for the Specific Report.

I am using two queries to get four reports; one for Programs or Region. Each Specific Report can be either sorted by region (or Program) within the specific Program (or Region) or not.

There are two Programs with the first five letters the same and two Regions with the first two letters the same. Any ideas? I presently tell my user, "Type the first six letters of the Program you want this report for." The other query asks, Type the first three letters of the Region this report is for."

I really don't want to have each report & query for each instance. There are eight programs and six regions.

Thank You,

Hi John,

Maybe i'm not understanding your question too well but from what you say wouldn't it be better to give the choices in the form of radio buttons? you could then work the paramaters on the user response to these and set common defaults also you would alleviate the problem of mis typed names etc.

Just a thought,
Noel.
