combo matching not only the first character typed

Combo box again :

In the default html combo box, only the first character typed is used to select an item in the list. If you type "P" it shows the first item beginning with "P" but it does not take the following characters typed.

How to get around that ?

If you hit "P" again, you get the next item with "P". That suffices for some.

Thabks I know but my list is populated with 10,000+ items (part numbers) (it works perfectly in Access) so typing 50 times on 3 to get the right part number might be a bit tedious for most
