Combo box

Is there a limit to the number of records a combo box can list?

I don't think so, but there gets to be a point when it doesn't fit into memory and slows the computer. The worst I saw was about a million parts in a combo box in Acc97 about 6.5 years ago. Granted, hardware was slower then but it seriously crawled. The good news was I was able to index the part numbers and requery the combo on one of the key events (kewdown, keypress?) in order to get it to run in some decent fashion. I no longer work there but I could probably remember enough of the key pieces if you needed help doing something similar.

Thanks for the article... I guess on the old hardware I never got close to the limit before we stopped it.
