Hi all,

I have a problem where I want to be able to search in a form alphabetically. I have sorted the source field in the table my query is based on and the form is based on that query. My form displays the information alphabetically but on my form there is a search combo box based on the forms info ,to search for info quickly. The thing is I want this combo box to display all info similiar to the search subject but all it display is the info from the original field and query before the sort ie. not the alphabetically ordered representation.
How can I do this? Why won't it remember that it was sorted?

Thank you,

Gerard

In the combo boxes Properties, in Data, go to Row Source and click on the epsilon (...) button to the right. In this query view sort the viewed field ascending. Then click on the Close button at the top right, and confirm that you want to save changes. The combo box should now list its contents alphabetically.

James.

Presumably by sorted you mean you have set up the field in question as the index field for that table? If so, then setting the combo box's RowSourceType property to Table/Query and the RowSource property to that table should display everything sorted.

If you are sorting in code, you may have to ensure that the combo box is being populated from sorted arrays or a query that sorts the field correctly. Alex Middleton
