combo box doesnt display values for everyone

I inherited an access97 project that was converted to access2003. This database is on a shared drive and is used by 10+ people. For 2 people, the forms display fine but when you click (any)combo boxes, data isn't displayed. However, if you click on a row in the combo box, then the data does populate (after update condition)so I know the rowsource is correct.

Things I've tried/checked.
Service packs
display colors
mdw file is being used (none)
code for security features (none)
Users are all powerusers (I've also tried it as admin)

Does anyone know why or something else I can check?

This is a known bug exhibited by ac2003 SP3.
There is a fix to download in MSKB.

thanks for the info but I am having trouble finding the update in mskb. I ran the office updates (as the web site suggested) but still have the same problem.
