Hi All,

I am trying to figure out is in a unbound control box, is it possible to have text displayed in the drop down before an event takes place, instead of displaying a blank box?

I have searched online, but I can't find any info on this.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

Michael

Not sure what you're aiming for here?

Perhaps setting the row source type to value list, and then entering some values in the Row Source property, Eg: Widget;Thingy;Wotsit would add those three items to the drop down.

Or do you mean you want the drop down to drop autmoatically? If So, me!cmbMyCombo.DropDown should do the trick...

How are ya micanguk . . .

I'm assuming you meant [green]Combobox[/green] instead of [red]controlbox[/red].

Perform your combobox setup in the forms [blue]Load[/blue] event! There's no way to do this other than an event unless the combobox has been previously setup in form design view.

You just need to setup before the form is fully open (doesn't matter how you do it).

Hi Guys,

Yes, apologies, I do mean combobox!

Thanks aceman, got it to work, as you suggested:

Code:
Private Sub Form_Load()

ComboName.SetFocus
Comboname.Text = "Blah blah"

End Sub

JB, thanks also for the auto dropdown idea.

Appreciated your guys help.

Michael
