Hello:

My problem is that I have a database in access to make exams. On this database I have a table who contents the question selected by the user.On this table I have the number of the question on the exam, the mark for each question, and the path of the location of the word document who contains the text for the question , for example:

Question mark Path
1 15 c:\WordDoc\Preg3245.doc
2 6 c:\WordDoc\Preg2424.doc

No my question is, How can I create a word document to combine the fields and the text for each question to print the exam. The format of the test must be :

(15) 1. (question)

(6) 2. ( question)

Thanks in advance

Trinitri

why put the path in the table rather than the question itself? If you put the question in the table you could get all the information in an Access query then with VBA create the Word document (or just an Access Report?).

There are 10 types of people in the world -
those who understand binary
and
those who don't!

Simple. First, all the question are in word documents and they are more than 3000 question, in the other hand, a lot of the question have graphics, special caracters , pictures , etc and access reports are not very good dealing with pictures who change their size fro each question. That's why I decide use word to merge the question for the exam.
Any ways thanks for your sugestion but in this case doesn't work believe me, I tried first for almost two weeks to solve the problem with access and doesn't work.

That's too bad, you can't even use BLOB fields to store the graphics, etc and use a relational database model to get the graphics for the question?

If, not I would search the Access VBA forum, I know there are threads that deal with opening word from access.

Thanks, what is a BLOB, I new working with databases so can you explain me how it works.
Thanks
Trinitry

I think it stands for Binary Large Object and is a field in the database that allows you to store graphics, etc. I did a search in the Access help on 'Graphics Field' and one of the choices is 'Create a field to store OLE objects' which has some information on storing WordDocuments and other Binary objects in tables.

We are now at the end of any knowledge I may claim on BLOBs! Hope this helps point you in the right direction.

Thanks I'll try to see what I can find.
