combining two tracks to one

I have two video tracks (each letter is a frame)

AAAAAAAAAAAA
BBBBBBBBBBBB

and I want to combine them like this:

ABABABABABABABABABA

Any ideas?

Use the razor tool on the timeline... overlap the clips exactly, then use the razor tool on the "AAAA" clip to show when you the "BBBBB" clip to show through.

Yes, but doing it to every other frame in a clip is pretty
tedious... is there any other "automated" way?
