I have a situation where I have emails on two seperate hard drives, both in Eudora 5.2 format and would like to combine them. Is this possible?.

I could forward all the mail from one system to the other, but that would change all of the sender addresses, so is undesirable.

Is there another way to do this?

Could you not simply rename the mailboxes in one of the versions, copy them into the folder of the other version, open eudora, then simply copy the emails from that renamed mailbox to the one you want to combine with? Sounds like it should work....

hmm..but where are the mailboxes. According to the FAQ's they should be in .mbx files, but I have searched both HDD's and no such files exist. In older versions i used to use exactly that technique, ie copy the file to the new system, rename, then copy the mail across, but in Eudora 5.2 there are no .mbx files that I can find.

Strange, because all versions I've ever had of Eudora have .mbx files. So when you go into Eudora on those HDD's, you see mailboxes, but no corresponding .mbx's? I doubt that could be. You're not by chance on a mac....

Ahh!! I finally found the .mbx files. The data files are in c:\documentsandsettings\<user>\applicationsdata\qualcomm\eudora and are hidden, so they didnt appear in a search or in windows explorer. Turns out the installation readme file has instructions as to the location of the data files. Thanks for the help.
