Combining Allwebmenus with php

I'm puzzled. I'm using Allwebmenus software to put a floating menu on a .php webpage. AWM requires that their code comes immediately after <body>. It works fine, linking to a separate .js file.
I have tried adapting this so that a choice of 3 menus can be summonsed depending on the particular SESSION VARIABLE at that time. This I have done by putting the AWM code on three different SSIs which are called according to the SESSION VARIABLE.
Sure enough the relevant code appears after the <body> according to the SESSION VARIABLE, but for some reason it only actually results in the succesful appearance of the floating menu itself for one of the SESSION VARIABLEs.
I wonder if anyone knows AWM well enough to tell me if this problem can be overcome, or point me to relevant help.
I've tried the AWM customer help system, but had no response.

Personally, I would steer well clear of AWM for 3 reasons:

1. It fails completely with no JS so you get no navigation whatsoever - not even a top-level nav!!!

2. It uses tables instead of a meaningful structure such as nested LIs, so screen readers, etc, have no context about the menu and sub-menu items.

3. You have to pay for it when there are many free solutions that are much, much better.

Note: I'm taking these points from their own site ( - just turn styles off and see just how bad and incoherent their menu items are. I can't believe they are actually managing to sell this thing!
