Combining AD and AS400 data

I am trying to pull data from our payroll system (AS400) and from our Active Directory on our Windows 2000 Server into a Crystal Report that lists all employees with their department and phone number. I have the users updating Active Directory with Galmod32. Has anyone linked these types of data before? I'm not sure how to do it.
