The FOH terminal was in redundancy mode for two days, from July 16th to July 17th. On the night of the 16th, the EOD ran and the folder was saved on the terminal, and the aloha.ini was updated to reflect the new date of business. The aloha.ini was not updated on the BOH. When taking the terminal out of redundancy mode on the 17th, I forgot to update the aloha.ini so the terminal ended up performing an End of Day right then, in the middle of the day.

So now I have the 17th's data saved into two different folders. This is not the first time this has happened to us. I remember it happening once before last year. When it happened then we contacted our dealer and they told us if a new day has started with new check/order #'s , there was nothing they could do. Does anybody know if this is accurate? Is there anyway to merge the data in two trans.log files for different days?

Copy the first trans.log into a folder. (for this example c:\trans)Rename it to trans1.log. Copy the second trans.log into this folder and rename it to trans2.log. From a command prompt go to c:\trans and run the following command "copy /b trans1.log+trans2.log trans.log". This will make a new trans.log that is the combination of the 2 originals.

Rename the existing trans.log in the dated folder and copy the newly made trans.log from c:\trans to the dated folder. Go back to the command prompt and navigate to the dated folder in question (ie c:\aloha\20110717 for the 17th of july). Now type
"%iberdir%\bin\grind.exe /fixlog trans.log". This should repair any duplicate tab numbers etc.

Now type "%iberdir\bin\grind.exe /date 20110717" (use the correct date at the end). This will rebuild the grind files Aloha uses for reporting.

Thank you very much posrescue! I had seen that in the other thread and I was going to try it, but just wanted to see if it would work for logs in different dated folders. It does look like it worked just fine, so thank you.
