This is probably a dumb question, but here goes.....
I have a dual channel LSI Ultra320 card. If my array has 2 channels also, is there a way using 2 cables, to attach them to the same logical drive and double the throughput to the server?
You would not be able to do that simply because your drives would only allow one connection. It is physically impossible to attach your hard drives to 2 channels at the same time.
You didnt say what controller you have. If your logical drive contains more than one physical drive then most likely you can. Most RAID controllers can span arrays across channels which means that all drives in that logical drive dont have to be on the same SCSI channel. HBA based controllers like the LSI 22320-R however, cannot. Now the value of spanning across channels is questionable and depends on how many total drives you have and what kind of workload you are 'throwing at them'.
