Is there a way in Crystal 9.0 to combine similar files. For example I have a current and a history file and the data fileds are exactly the same in each. Linking from one to the other causes many problems from my report.

I Know I can build a sql query throurh Crystal 8.5 SQL Designer using a UNION ALL statment. HOWEVER, this then requires a two step process; 1. sql designer to combine file, then 2. run the actual CR9 report.

Perhaps there is some way to access the SQL query in CR9? Thanks for your help.

You don't need to use the SQL Designer to do a Union All in Crystal 8.5, you can do it right in the SQL (database->Show SQL Query). Just add the Union All statement at the end, copy and paste the SQL from above, paste it below the Union All and change the table name.

You can write custom queries in CR 9, and what you're asking for sounds like a Union All so just write the SQL there (same as in 8.5).

thanx, I found out the place to enter the sql commands is in the data expert, in the command option. I was unclear on this orginally. Thanx for your help.
