Hi, this may seem like a silly question but i am trying to find out if you can only put 15/30gb tapes into a 15/30gb machine. Also would Compaq DLT III tapes work.

thanks in advance

Michael.

According to the Quantum technical specification sheet for the 15/30Gb drive, you can use the DLT IIIXT and DLT III tapes but only get 10/20Gb capacity out of the DLT III tapes.

For your info, whether the drive is badged as Quantum, Compaq or even Tandberg, in essence they are still the same drive. -----------------------------------------------------
