I have 2 questions;

I'm new to ACCPAC dev and I developed an application that;
- READS information from ACCPAC using an ODBC link to Pervasive
- WRITES information to ACCPAC using the COMAPI

1st question;
- would it be better to use the COMAPI in both scenarios?

2nd question;
- the Application is going to be moved to another server, do I install the FULL ACCPAC client to access and use the COMAPI and the ACCPAC DB that's located on another server?

1. Definatly! Use the ACCPAC COMAPI in both situations.
2. If the program is not within a Macro you will need the System Manager installed locally and an IAP licence. The SM will take care of finding and communicating with the database.

Thanks zemp,
I install the System Manager and I'm able to connect. I just don't have access to the list of views. I've used the macro capability to get some information, but I'm never sure if it covers everything.

Unfortunately I don't have access to the support modules/information..

{quote]I just don't have access to the list of views.[/quote] What do you mean? The list of views can be downloaded from ACCPAC as the Application Object Model (AOM). You can also you can look for a 'view Information' menu item under under 'Start-Programs-ACCPAC-tools' (maybe only with the SDK). Also open a Cable macro for editing (WROFFEUR.mac for example) and the click 'object Information' under the 'Debug' menu for a list of all the views and compositions.

A macro usually covers what you really need. Composing the views properly is a key. When you record a Macro use the 'record all fields' option.
