COM+ System Requirements

Anyone know what the system requirements are for running COM+? I've noticed that method calls are running one third slower when I install the app as a COM+ application. I'd like to get more info on this overhead so I better so that I can plan a little better.

When you put a library in Component Services it will slow down just due to the RPC calls that are needed. Writing distributed applications really does expose you to what you are doing and the ramifications. Such as it is not uncommon to see someone call a local object, have it populate itself then use methods like GetNext 50,000 times. Move this to a distributed app on the same or, even worse, different server and you'll see the performace drop. This is where you learn how valueable things like disconnected recordsets are.
