COM Ports and CASH Drawers in Aloha

Has anyone ever had a Drawer work for a couple of presses of the "Open Drawer" Button and then stop, then when you unplug the power from the drawer and then replug it works for a couple of more pushes then quits? I am sure this is a hardware issue but I am hoping that someone has run into this before.

The drawer is an MMF serial. Don't have an exact model number.

Any help would be apreciate....got to install this weekend and I am lost.

Oh...the POS is running on Windows 2k Pro.
