com port control??

Hey guys,

I am trying to read the parity of incoming bytes of data from the com port to see whether it s on or off. I also need to be able to control the parity of outgoing bytes of data. Is there any way this can be done? If not, can it be done in any other language that you know of?

I would like to do this in Windows NT 4, but any os will be fine.
