We're using Actuate V7 SP2 (running on Win2K). I need to report from an Oracle database using a security toolkit for access. The toolkit includes VB code. The documentation for the toolkit states that the funcitons within the VB code must be used via com automation. I am NOT a VB programmer, so I hope my questions are clear:
1) The Actuate documentation refers to OLE automation fo the createobject function. Can I use the createobject function in Actuate to instantiate a VB program?
2) If yes, does the VB code need to be compiled into a DLL (and registered on the appropriate machine)?
3) Has anyone worked with Actuate V7 and com automation?
I thank you in advance for any and all assistance - John.
