Columns rearranging?

Hi all,

I just received an interesting issue from a user in our company. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

"Caller reports an issue that occurs only occasionally in her Notes Inbox. When she moves the mouse pointer to the Title bar that contains the titles for the columns of the email list (Who Date Time Size and Subject) to click the Refresh icon in the corner for more email, the email that was selected in the email list (the one with the thin black rectangle around it) starts flash a little bit and is highlighted. At the same time, the column titles begin to shuffle along with the data in the respective columns underneath the titles. When I was on with the caller she said the Subject column had moved to the left, the Who column came next, and then the remaining columns, whereas normally the Who column is the one on the left. She has not discovered a way to correct this when the issue occurs. It will correct itself when she reboots. While she was speaking with me, the issue was occurring when she had no other applications running."

Its very interesting. At first I thought user might be accidentally dragging their columns, but in this case the values wouldn't reset on a reboot. Other than that, I have no ideas, so I turn to the experts. Any help is appreciated.

The user is generally able to move columns around in the views of their own mail box, but there is an option in the user's Preferences that states whether or not said changes will be kept ("Retain View column sorting").
If that option is not checked, then any changes made will disappear as soon as the session is ended - which means that a reboot will end the validity of the changes.

What is really surprising is that the columns change place supposedly without a clear user operation doing so. I would very much like to be sure that there is column movement independant of mouse mouvement in this case.
If indeed the columns move "by themselves", there could be a possibility that the mouse driver is at fault, but I would put the PC through a very thorough virus/malware check first.
