We want to set up Issue Tracking (MOSS 2007) and only have the appropriate choices presented to the user based on another column. Is there some way to use the Calculated column type?

Example:

Column A - Dept - choices: Math, Science, History
Column B - Classes - choices: Geometry, Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, US, World

When the user selects Math from the Dept column, only Geometry and Algebra should be displayed in the Classes column.

I'm new to SP and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this for a form? If so, you can google sharepoint cascading drop down list and should come up with some options.

This functionality cannot be created out of box, but it can be done with some coding. Also, there are a few 3rd party applications that will do this for you.

Thanks to both of you. I wanted an out of the box solution, but this seems like a great site.
