column line up

I now know how to use text tables but I previously made a list of names & telephone numbers in one column and no matter how hard I try they just will not line up in a vertical column and look straight they look like they have thrown a wobbly. How can I achieve a straight column without having to do them all again in a text table frame.

Apply either a Basline grid which you will set up for under your preferences>Grids, and simply set it for what ever you leading is.
and then make sure your type has the lock to basline option on..


Or with your black arrow select you text frame, right click>text frame options...
and set it to justify instead of Top
