After I created a view I don't see the column definitions like columntype,columnlength etc., But I could see all these definitions in my base tables and also I could see the column definitions in other database like Oracle,DB2.
Any huge difference in TERADATA, the way it creates the VIEWS?

Thanks

The views are created similar to Oracle/DB2, but only the columnname is stored in dbc.tvfields. If you drop a table and recreate it with the same column names, but different datatypes, the view will still work without REPLACE.

If you want to see more info about those view columns use
HELP COLUMN viewname.*;
this will return base table information.
