Colouring placed 1-bit Bitmap images 1

I cant seem to coloour my placed bitmaps in Illustrator. Is there some reason this is happening?

I'm not sure you can do this in Illustrator (I could be wrong here) but you CAN colour greyscales in Pagemaker.

Are you using the "Fill" or "Outline"? I am able to color 1 bit bitmaps in CS with the fill command.

Yeah, I've tried using bothe the selection and the direct selection tool when trying to colour my bitmap - both without luck.

I'm sure I could do this before!

Worked it out!

You just have to embed the placed image (links palette > embed image)

Easy!
