I have found some colours on a web site that I like:

The colours are the ones used for the menu on the left hand side.

However when I zoomed in on the page I found out that it actually uses a two tone (2 colour) effect to acheive the particular colour.

Does anyone know how this is done?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Dan

our "zoom" is deceiving you. Each of the colors is a single value as follows: (from top to bottom)

#D2CCBB
#A7C5CC
#B7C5CC
#CACCCD
#D8C3B7
#ABB6A8
#E3D8BA

I used Color Pro 2 to select the values from the screen. Your colors may vary slightly depending n your monitor.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

I don't see two tones either, maybe your monitor is set to 256 colours?

If you ever do need to force this dithered effect, simply create a 2 pixel square gif, with the two colours laid out like this:
[tt]
O*
*O
[/tt]
and use the CSS background property to use it as a tiled background image. It's much easier (and more sensible) to pick a single colour though.
