why does the colour of our network drive show as blue

Possibly because the contents is either compressed or encrypted.

In Windows Explorer go to Tools > Folder Options > View

Untick the "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color" option. Does the drive contents now show in black?

Ed Metcalfe.
