Colour LJ 4700dn - 000MB on Display

When the printer is turned on, it seems to count the memory, return to 000MB and some *'s on the screen and then stop.

I have taken out the formatter board and reseated everything, but the same happens again.

Also there is no lights on the network (rj-45) connection port.

Any ideas - the HP site seems to have scant info on this.

I forgot to add :

If the memory is put into the other slot, the same occurs and if it is removed completely the three lights (Ready Data Attention) come on and stay on and the display remains blank.

You should have known good firmware, and memory to test out the formatter. Remove both chips, and turn on unit. Turn off and install chips, start-up again. The firmware should be okay, so just get another memory.

HP say this is not a memory issue, but a network one.

They asy that doing a cold reset (turn off, turn on and as memory is counting press Green Tick for 10 secs, option for language should come up , press up once and choose Cold Reset) should work -- but it doesn't .... soooooo HP enginer coming tomorrow !!!!!

I'm 99% sure that the issue is the firmware dimm on the formatter board. Let us know what the HP engineer finds out.
