I stumbled across this the other day, and thought it would be a useful addition to any designer's toolbox. What a shame it's not available for Windows!

It's a free piece of software that lets you simulate how a person with any of the various degrees of colour-blindness will see colour schemes.

Or the comprehensive which references most of the common forms of colour-blindness. It works best used with a standards compliant browser, but you can still see the colour effects in IE
