guys i need to know if you see a difference in the black background and the black background on the spinning figure gif..i was at a friends and noticed it..came home turned the brightness of my screen up and of course there it was..so i guess another question would be(besides the obvious of making them the same shade of black)is there a certain brightness and things like that to keep in mind when designing for the web..because of my settings on my computer i could not tell the difference at first..looked fine to me in publish mode..but on the other computer i noticed..had another person look at it from another computer same thing..do most people view there screen that bright?if i do alpha fades and things like that will the people who have there settings darker not see certain things?.anyway please can i have a few people look and see if they can tell the difference between the background, the spinning gif,the sprinkler jpg..are there any noticable differences?.

ok so this is what i did..i came home re-did the color on the movie with my brightness all the way up..viewed the movie with my normal brightness setting of about 75% and now i can barely see the faucet and the water..this is at 1024/768px..does this matter..does the resolution of the screen, and the brightness of each individuals screen gona come into play when i'm creating for the web??guys need some input..need to know what you guys see in the movie..and what ya think about this problem..

sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh...............

the way it is now is if you have your screen brightness anywhere from like 70 to 100 % you can see the dark blue in the faucet jpg..but if your screen is set anywhere from 45 to 65 you get the dark blue looking as black as the rest of the background..because of the alpha effect..how do i get the people with their monitors so bright not to see the blue without keeping the people with their monitors dark from not seeing the water from the faucet at all..does this make since guys..going to jump from the balcony now..or get some sleep..one or the other..

evenin'

Well my monitors at 75% (which it normally is) and I can see an obvious difference between the spinning image and the background -> Why not just make the background to the spinning image tranpsarent? if it's a gif image (don't know) then import the various frames into a flash movie, and use the old 'trace bitmap' jobby -> will also decrease the file size =)

bye for now,

P.

p.s. nice site =)

thanks for the compliment..how do i do the trace bmp thing..can't find it any where..any tutorials on it..

virt

got your e-mail, would've posted already if I could be bothered to wait the ten hours for the thing to download.

Going with Petitpal: Select your image...Modify>Trace Bitmap...

200K == at least 400seconds == at least 7minutes-ish, ok so 10 hours was an exaggeration ;-) davdesign@pinkzeppelin.com

traced bitmap on all the images in the seq..cut out the black background leaving only the figure..cut the file size(movie)down to 100k..in half..but the quality of the figure has suffered..shape of breast and things like that not the same..tried messing with the settings in the trace bitmap box..got the shape to come out right by adding different pixels and smoothness to the trace command..but the file size goes back up to 180k..guess it's a no win situation..got all the colors the same though by replacing all the images with the same shade of black..so i got that resolved..but the file size?.200k is seven minutes to download?.

+/- 50 seconds on a regular slow connection virt!
IMHO it would of been easier to match the rest of your black background to the one of the figure. There was but a slight difference with my settings.

BTW, if you start wondering how each project of your's is going to look like on anybobody's monitor, you're not out of the woods. It's like screening an edit in a post-production house on a 20" 15,000.00$ monitor off a digital tape machine across the room and expecting that it will look the same on a beat down RCA motel television, broadcasted on a thunder night storm.
Best is that you be satisfied with what you see on your normally ajusted monitor. If some jerk as cranked up the brightness... Well tought-s... for him!

Going back to take care of the lady!

;-)

the only problem with that old is that i am a perfectionist beleive it or not..and if i know somehow that somewhere it's possible that it isn't right, it would drive me crazy..so what brightness is a safe level you think..i normaly have mine at about 65%..i would design with it bright to make sure the colors are always exact..but then the guys like me with there monitors kinda dark, wouldn't be able to see some of the alpha's..

shheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeshhhhhhhh.....i gots a head ache..

Roughly the same as f2s man... +/- 50 seconds while connected at the same rate. Guess it's not really a matter of your server as much as my possible connection speed!
Another harsh reality!
Just wish everybody was on cable modem!

;-)

no i'm gona get this man..i'm gona cut and reduce..i don't know what but i am..i will get this down to a couple minutes or less..this i sware..
